Good questions

Things people actually ask us.

Who are Peter and Lisa Kim?
Peter and Lisa Kim are a husband-and-wife YouTube couple, born and raised in Los Angeles and based in the San Gabriel Valley (the 626). They make honest food and travel videos about SGV restaurants, NBA arena food, and their adventures around LA and beyond.
What is the San Gabriel Valley (SGV) known for?
The San Gabriel Valley, east of Los Angeles, is home to one of the best Asian food scenes in America. Cities like Alhambra, Monterey Park, San Gabriel, and Arcadia are packed with dumpling houses, boba shops, dim sum halls, and regional Chinese, Taiwanese, Vietnamese, and Korean food you can't find anywhere else in the US.
Where can I find your SGV restaurant recommendations?
All of our restaurant lists, reviews, and neighborhood guides now live at eatinsgv.com, our dedicated food guide. The SGV Day Planner is currently offline while we rebuild it with current, verified recommendations.
Is the SGV Day Planner available?
Not right now. We took it offline while we rebuild it around current, verified recommendations rather than sending people to places that may have closed.
What is Chili Oil Gang?
Chili Oil Gang is our independent chili oil review site. We share honest reviews, comparisons, and tasting notes about the jars we try; it is not a store and we do not sell chili oil there.
What is the NBA Arena Quest?
Peter is on a mission to see a game in every one of the 30 NBA arenas and rate the food at each. You can track progress, including arena food picks, on the NBA Quest page.
What is Project Alive and why do you support it?
Project Alive is a family-founded 501(c)(3) nonprofit working to cure Hunter syndrome (MPS II), a rare genetic disease affecting roughly 500 boys in the US. It's personal for us because of Skyler and Ollie Chu, two brothers from California living with Hunter syndrome; in February 2025, Ollie became the first person in the world to receive a groundbreaking gene therapy for it. Learn more on our Causes page or at projectalive.org and skylerandollie.com.
What causes do Peter and Lisa Kim support?
Project Alive (curing Hunter syndrome, inspired by Skyler & Ollie Chu), St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (Peter raced the Rock 'n' Roll DC Half as a fundraiser), NYRR Team for Climate (Peter ran the United Airlines NYC Half to help offset race emissions), and CHIRLA, the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights in Los Angeles. Details are on the Causes page.
Do you do sponsorships or brand partnerships?
We haven't found a sponsorship yet that felt like a good fit for us; our recommendations aren't for sale. That said, if you're a brand we'd genuinely use and there's something real in it for our community, we're open to a conversation at hello@peterlisakim.com. Small local businesses and community projects always get a reply.
How can I contact Peter and Lisa Kim?
Email hello@peterlisakim.com, DM @peter.lisa.kim on Instagram, or comment on any video on the Peter & Lisa Kim YouTube channel. We read everything.
How can I support your videos?
